R.I. Right to Life calls upon Governor-elect Chafee to reconsider abortionist-appointee

Providence, RI—The Rhode Island State Right to Life Committee urges Governor-elect Lincoln Chafee to reconsider his appointment of abortionist Pablo Rodriguez to his transition team.

Pablo Rodriguez is an abortion practitioner and former medical director of Planned Parenthood of Rhode Island, which operates the abortion center on Point Street in Providence. In an essay published online by the Longview Institute http://www.longviewinstitute.org , Rodriguez even admits to having performed abortions in an undisclosed South American country where abortion is illegal.

Said R.I. Right to Life Executive Director Barth E. Bracy, “Notwithstanding the fact that he earned just over one-third of the vote, we hope that Governor-elect Chafee will keep in mind that, as Governor, he is called to represent all Rhode Islanders. It makes no sense for him to so quickly alienate tens of thousands of dedicated pro-life citizens in Rhode Island.”

Ultimately, says Bracy, “The Rhode Island State Right to Life Committee can not stand idly by as Chafee aligns his administration with the abortion industry, which slaughters thousands of unborn babies each year in Rhode Island. If Chafee will not reconsider his appointment of Rodriguez, we can only assume that he is preparing to pursue a vigorous abortion agenda. We thus we call upon pro-lifers in Rhode Island to prepare to oppose Chafee’s administration during the next four years.”
